To bring some crazy ideas to life, I started a small workshop back in 2016.

It began in a small room in the apartment I was living in São Paulo and grew into something bigger, more grand, and professional. It gained a name, a purpose, and supported us for four consecutive years.

I’ve always had a knack for hands-on skills, and since my teenage years, I’ve been experimenting with various things. In the beginning, I used colorful sprays to paint wood and bottles. Over time, I progressed to other materials like iron, PVC, copper pipes, skateboard decks, carbon filament bulbs, pallets, crates, and foosball figures. Embracing an upcycling vibe, everything turned into a Pinterest-worthy idea and an attempt to build something new, fun, and innovative.

When Aurora, my first little daughter, was born, we decided to move back to Curitiba to raise her closer to our families. During this time, we took over the workshop as our main source of income, and it stayed that way throughout the entire pandemic. Now, these activities continue as a woodworking hobby and hands-on pursuit. For anyone curious, you can check out more of what we’ve done on Canário Handmade Instagram. 😉

To document the projects coming into the workshop, I ended up creating a YouTube channel.
